Requirements for Volunteers at the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena or St. John Vianney School

The United States Conference of Bishops' Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People mandates that every diocese implement Safe Environment programs for all children, parents, and adults. The principal purpose of this Charter is to ensure a safe environment for the children of each diocese. Here in the Diocese of Allentown, a number of steps have been taken in order implement these guidelines pertaining to reconciliation, healing, accountability, and prevention of future acts of abuse.

Below is a list of the requirements necessary to volunteer at Cathedral Church or St. John Vianney School. All forms and certificates should be submitted to the Safe Environment coordinator at St. John Vianney School.

Coordinator for the Church Volunteers: Coordinator for School Volunteers and ALL FORMS:
  • School Safe Environment Coordinator: Mrs. Donna Torres (6th Grade Teacher)

Requirements for adult volunteers
(anyone 18 years and older who will be volunteering while minors are present)

Requirements for minor volunteers (anyone under the age of 18 years old)

SAFE ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS CHECKLIST

  • Original certificate for the Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (will be returned to you)
  • Original certificate for the Pennsylvania Child Abuse History (will be returned to you)
  • Complete form for the FBI Criminal Background Fingerprint Check
  • Signed Acknowledgement form for Dioceseís Sexual Abose Policy
  • Signed Acknowledgement form for Dioceseís Code of Conduct
  • Protecting Godís Children attendance certificate
  • Certificate from Mandated Reporting Training

Please submit all the above forms to the Safe Environment Coordinator
